Nova publicação: Caracterização molecular de híbridos de Spondias spp. no Nordeste do Brasil.

Após mais de 10 anos da pesquisa realizada, finalmente foi publicado o artigo da caracterização de híbridos de Spondias no Nordeste Brasileiro. Os dados de sequenciamento indicam mais de 355 amostras revelam uma variedade de eventos de hibridação entre espécies selvagens e introduzidas. Alguns dos híbridos tem mais de uma origem, e Spondias bahiensis (umbu-cajá) é novamente recuperado como híbrido entre S. venulosa e S. tuberosa, confirmando a publicação original da espécie.

New publication: revision of the role of microRNA in the regulation of plant pigments

This new revision Painting the plant body: pigment biosynthetic pathways regulated by small RNAs was published by the post-doc researcher Carlos Hernán Barrera-Rojas in the journal New Phytologist. The revision outlines the main regulatory pathways in which microRNA are involved, especially in anthocyanin regulation.

New publication: morphometrics for species delimitation in rupicolous orchids of the genus Cattleya

This new paper Morphometric analyses as a tool for the delimitation of a species complex of rupicolous Cattleya orchids from the Brazilian campos rupestres of Minas Gerais and Bahia uses linear morphometrics to investigate the distinctness of three species of orchids, Cattleya pfisteri, C. caulescens and C. pabstii as well as the nothospecies C. ×diamantinensis, all endemic to the the campos rupestres vegetaion in the Espinhaço range, Brazil.
